Hillwood Jewerly Series
Great American Jewelers, 1930–1970
Between 1930 and 1970, American jewelry design broke from European influences to establish a lasting personality of its own. Janet Zapata, jewelry historian and independent curator, illustrates the evolution of American jewelry, which with its daring new look rivaled and often surpassed jewelry created elsewhere. She explores the diamond masterpieces of Harry Winston, the exuberant enamel-and-gemstone jewelry from Tiffany & Co., and the bold designs of such pioneering jewelers as Paul Flato, Seaman Schepps, and Fulco di Verdura.
