illwood's metals collection comprises almost exclusively pieces
constructed from the so-called "noble" metals of gold
and silver and includes the work of some notable gold- and silversmiths
of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Additionally, the museum
features less well-known examples of Continental enamels and Russian
niello.
