"Washington's Kennedy Center presented Sally Field in "The Glass Menagerie," while the University of Chicago's Court Theatre offered a cast of Chicago-based actors led by Kevin Gudahl in "Virginia Woolf." These finely acted productions, unfussily directed by GregoryMosher and Charles Newell, respectively, were of the highest quality. Next to them, Broadway's Brits look awfully provincial."
