Court Theatre is Proud to Announce Our 52nd Season of Powerful Classic Plays

This season begins with Raisin, the Tony Award-winning musical adaptation of the landmark classic A Raisin in the Sun, reuniting Artistic Director Charles Newell and Music Director Doug Peck for the first time since last season’s hit revisionist Man of La Mancha. Up next, Humana Festival favorite Hotel Cassiopeia brings the nationally-acclaimed SITI Company directed by the legendary Anne Bogart to Court with the story of artist Joseph Cornell and the search for the perfect articulation of the moments that make a life worth living. We continue our three-year partnership with the Museum of Contemporary Art with an energetic and unexpected Uncle Vanya, presented at the MCA and directed by Charles Newell in his signature unconventional style. Ron OJ Parson, who directed 2006’s moving production of Fences, returns to Court with the frontier saga Flyin’ West, the story of a small group of women as they leave the oppressive South for the West. Finally, Charles Newell follows up his 2004 hit production of Tom Stoppard’s Travesties with the irresistibly intelligent and time-jumping Arcadia.
